Om Ashram
Om Ashram is a charitable trust formed with the main objective of providing succor and care for the old. Every person who comes here is made to feel at home without the impersonal atmosphere of an old age home.
After our initial visit to the place, we carried out an activity called 'Milaap'. As the name suggests, we arranged for a get-together of old and the young generation. For this we provided transportation for the elderly to Makkala Jaagruti, where they spent half a day interacting with the little kids, sharing their life experiences, talking, laughing, and playing. It was a wonderful sight of old and young - two different end of life - mingle beautifully with each other Currently, we are planning for activities like these - that will definitely bring loads of joy, enthusiasm, happiness to everyone.
PAPCP
It stands for Parents Association of Persons with Cerebral Palsy and Associated Disorders. We organized a fund raising exhibition at Forum mall, Bangalore. Children of PAPCP had created some crafts, artistic paintings, colorful Christmas candles and greetings, creative envelopes and paper bags and lot more. After getting involved with the children, we successfully put up an exhibition in the Mall/ We are extending a heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped us in making this as a successful event - to those who purchased the various artifacts and to those who volunteered.
Awareness on exam pressure-The media campaign
Remember the exam time in our childhood? Yes, the exam pressure hasn't decreased for the children but in fact has reached its peak. During examination time, many students go through enormous pressure of performing well. It's an important time for many and a life or death situation for some; literally!! Some students, unable to handle the exam pressure commit suicide. When we, (Winning Aspirations) heard one such incident, we took this as our next project.
As part of this campaign, we functioned as mediators between counselors from Banjara Academy and media (radio stations and newspapers). We got the commitment from Banjara Academy and AIR and finally the talk show was arranged on FM rainbow, by Ing. K Raja Reddy. We are in the process of getting commitments from other radio stations & newspapers like the Hindu, Rajasthan Patrika etc. We hope to put our message across and make parents aware of the situation through the 4th pillar of democracy, the media.
As someone has rightly said, awareness is the first step for the change; we are planning our future activities in this direction. We believe and we have noticed, in this 21st century, individuals aren't aware of various attributes in this society.
As an individual, all of us are doing every possible bit towards the country and society together and at the same time meta-morphosising into better persons.
