Winning Aspirations came into existence as part of Landmark Education course project. Landmark Education, is an institute that provides us with the curriculum to ‘live life powerfully and the life that we love.
Officially this project was started by five members on 26th September 2007 with the vision “Creating the possibility of work/job for housewives, handicapped, old and unemployed such that they feel happiness and energy in adding value and productivity to the country and the world.”
Being new to this, we took few weeks time for planning, defining process and finalizing on our goals. We did the entire information gathering for the official website and once that was done; we started spreading the message within our friends. The message passed on slowly yet effectively and we got all the support that we needed from our friends, colleagues and like-minded people. The next line of action for us was to search for an organization where we could dedicate ourselves and especially that could fit our vision. One thing was always clear to us; we need to work with an organization that does not have support in terms of Money, Volunteers or Emotions. We started with forwarding resumes of unemployed people to people we know, we gave technical guidance for some of the students. We also spoke with some of the people around us as to what they want to do in their life, and are unable to do it due to lack of support. But after a while we realized that this is not what we want to do. Our first milestone was an exhibition that we organized in the Forum Mall, Koramangala, Bangalore (date 26th December) for an organization called as PAPCP (Parents Association of Persons with Cerebral Palsy and Associated Disorders). The experience was entirely different – an inspiration for us to put our step forward. The feeling of being special and standing away from the crowd was known to all of us once we completed our event that day…! :-)
This was a new beginning for us that gave us a lot of enthusiasm and passion to march forward with our heads held high.
After this there was no looking back. We have grown like a tree with many braches. We have a new vision to our group now. “Joining hands, touching lives and spreading smiles.” With this a new us – Winning Aspirations – was born.
